Noreascon Art Show and Retro Art Exhibit

I really enjoyed touring the Noreascon Art Show and Retro Art exhibit. I noted some artists to follow up on, and this is a good way of making a permanent note:

In the Retro Art Show:
John Schoenherr was well represented, with a number of striking monochrome works. Although he was a major SF artist of the period, I had not consciously registered his name before, and am very glad to have done so now. There were also some Richard Powers abstracts I very much liked.

In the main Art Show:
Laurie Toby Edison's black and white photographs of fat nudes were striking and very beautiful. Later I spoke to Laurie in the dealers' room and bought two books, of which more later.

Daniel Dodson had very large, very beautiful, more-or-less-flat-plane metal sculptures. One in particular was aluminium etched with the profile of a city, although it caught my eye as stacked books. If Brian had liked that one I'd have cleaned out my savings account to buy it. He didn't. I'm really not sure whether I'm glad or sorry.

Lots of other good stuff too. But these were my highlights.
