The Great Garden Bird Watch

One (count it, one!) blackbird!

Of course, watching at dusk on a cold, damp day may not have been ideal. But one blackbird! Oh, what a falling off is here. Last year I had blackbirds, tits, and pigeons.

The good news is that it eventually vanished into the ivy, so with any luck there will be another nest there this year.

I feel for you. I got Mr & Mrs Blackbird, a wren and a sparrow. Where were the long-tailed tits, robins, starlings, collared doves and the garden magpie when I needed them? (The hens don't count.)

I got a fair amount of sock knitted whilst watching.

And where was the robin? He's been around this past few weeks. Just not Sunday.
