Wit's End by Karen Joy Fowler (2008)

Rima visits her godmother, bestselling mystery novelist Addison Early, at her Wit's End home, drinks a lot of herbal tea, and discovers how her godmother and her father were related to each other. Some short descriptive passages are excellent.

That's all I can think to say about this. I read it because of the title, rather than because I actually wanted to, and found it mostly fairly boring. First novel I've read to feature LiveJournal, I think. Wish I'd been reading something more engaging over the new year.

Mm, I can't get on with her books. I keep reading them because people recommend them, but there's something there that doesn't work for me.
