The progress of the green revolution

Dug through the potato pot this morning for the second time - got 5 tiny, 3 small and 2 medium potatoes which is about the same as I got the first time and will serve us for a meal. I don't think there are any more in there, though I will check as I empty out the compost in a few days time.

I think the compost was £5 or £6 a bag and the original bag of seed potatoes cost about £3.50 - and of course there was a carbon cost associated with the supply and purchase of these. This crop came from planting half the seed potatoes in a whole bag of compost - not cost effective by any measure. No green revolution here!

But they taste nice, were very little work, and haven't been gnawed by slugs.

Excellent.
We are doing tomatoes right now -- we have lots on our plants but the are not ripening due to the weather. Oh, and apples. We are drowning in apples.
