Even by the standards of exceedingly well connected people I think that 4 simultaneous parties on 20th September is quite a lot. I feel that the hosts who advised weeks ago, and which are compatible, are entitled to preference, but will regret the other two invitations arrived this week.

Not sure whose invitations you have recently received, but the party that we are attending is on the same Saturday every year for so long now that I can't remember when it started. That sort of gave them a head start in my book.

Yeah, if it helps, mine was the screw up. But it was created by our original choice turning out to be Polyday. By the time we found out the problem we had sent out too many invitations. We've made a note and won't repeat it (and as ours starts at 3pm, and for many Londoners can be "on the way" it's possible to do both).

I wish that we could find a sensible way to do both, but alas, it's just not on the cards. It has become a very expensive day out indeed for us to go to London. Great idea, privatisation of the railroad. :~(

Show off! You are now compelled to list the parties! I have one and am quite happy with it :-)
