Smoking Ban

The Daily Telegraph had this sad article today.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml;jsessionid=PQIFO02440WDLQFIQMFSFF4AVCBQ0IV0?xml=/opinion/2007/11/10/do1004.xml&posted=true&_requestid=578450

I posted this comment on their website:

"I sympathise with Vicki losing her pub. However, it seems perverse to blame the legislation that is the final step in the conversation for its closure. I, a non-smoker, stopped going regularly to pubs over 30 years ago because I disliked the smoke so much. If more publicans had tried harder to welcome me back in the intervening years, fewer of them might be closing now."

I could go on, but life is too short.

Meanwhile, we are going to see the Lord Mayor's fireworks tonight.

And what the hell does examinate mean?

It's a sad and worrying article, because I love pubs, but I'm with you - I have walked out of numerous pubs in the past because of the smoke. It's yet another example of the addictive nature of tobacco.
